I’m Emily, a freelance illustrator based in Bristol, England. I create bold yet traditional coloured pencil illustrations for editorial and publishing projects.
My work often features elements of the natural world, English heritage, outdoor adventures, and home cooking. I love using bold colours and relaxed, textured lines to create a warm, timeless quality – which is why coloured pencils are my chosen medium. Drawing with them feels natural. From the moment I put pencil to paper, I feel calm and completely absorbed, letting the illustration come to life on its own. Their variety of colours helps me add a playful edge to my otherwise traditional style.
The personal projects in my portfolio are all self-directed, often inspired by articles in National Trust Magazine or the styling in Waitrose & Partners Food. These are the kinds of publications I’d love to collaborate with.
Living in South West England, I’m lucky enough to be close to the quintessential Cotswolds and the beautiful Cornish coast. When I’m not drawing, I’m usually out exploring the towns, cities, and countryside, gathering inspiration for my next illustrations.
If you think my style could suit your project, please get in touch — I’d love to hear from you!
